Drapanias is located 35 kilometers west of Chania, 4 kilometers from Kasteli and is a small coastal village close to the sea.
It is a beautiful village with some structures from the Ottoman era, like the tower and the well. There are two noteworthy churches in the area, one of which is dedicated to Christ in the entrance of the cave Makri Spileo.
At beach in Drapanias you can visit the ruins of a Minoan settlement and a settlement from the Classical period. According to some researches the ancient city of Mithimna was built here.
The mansion of the Venetian officer Trevizan is also worth visiting.
You can enjoy good food and drinks at the tavernas and coffee shops of the village. Of course Kasteli is very close by where you have a plethora of choices for food, drinks, entertainment and night life.
